Black United Fund of Oregon
The mission of the Black United Fund of Oregon (BUF-OR) is to assist in the social and economic development of Oregon’s underserved communities and to contribute to a broader understanding of ethnic and culturally diverse groups.
Our Three Pillars
BUF-OR is the longest-serving and one of the only Black-led foundations in Oregon, and one of the last culturally-specific organizations remaining on historically-Black Northeast Alberta Street. For over 40 years, our programs have increased post-secondary success for youth and provided philanthropic support to underrepresented communities.

Post-Secondary Options
We invest in YOUTH through access to training, workshops, podcasts, scholarships, mentorship, career planning, financial literacy, introduction to career pathways and opportunities, and network-building.

Economic Justice & Development
We invest in ECONOMIC JUSTICE & DEVELOPMENT by stewarding Black and other communities of color through broader community engagement, hosting networking events, providing technical assistance, and more for emerging Black entrepreneurs and business owners.

Community
Impact
We invest in PHILANTHROPY by providing community-based organizations with low to no cost physical spaces, technical assistance, mentorship, and grants for emerging and grassroots nonprofits from Black and other communities of color.
